Are you a Dreamweaver? The term “Dreamweaver” has been used in music, films and TV and even in the computer world. I think of it as weaving and spinning your dreams, making things happen, setting and achieving goals, especially for travel. Perhaps you’re a Baby Boomer, those lucky ones of us born between 1946 and 1964, and maybe you’re also a Dreamweaver. Today, most of us are retirees, or close to it, or maybe working part or full-time but a lot of us still have that wanderlust to explore and travel.
Do you remember backpacking around “Europe on $5 A Day”, when hitchhiking was safe and acceptable? Do you remember Route 66 and Burma-Shave signs? Do you remember airplanes with real glassware and silverware, enjoying free meals, more leg room, free booze and smoking? Travel sure has changed and so have we!
Do you have a travel “bucket list”? Have you ticked off most of them, a few or none, or are you still hoping it will just happen “one day”? Where do you want to travel to? When? How? Or maybe you want to volunteer in a foreign country and make a difference out there in the world? What’s limiting or stopping you? Dreams do come true but it’s up to you to create them.
Here you will read stories about real people who have made their travel dreams come true, sometimes long ago or just recently. There are Gutsy Grannies, Movers & Shakers, Transformational Travels, Exotic Excursions and Solo Sojourns. There will be tips and inspiration woven into each story which we hope will motivate you to want to travel to that particular destination or somewhere else, or just tag along for the ride in your cozy armchair. Life is a journey: take it, experience it, live it, abandon your fears, take risks but mostly just enjoy the ride! Weave your own dreams and become a Dreamweaver!
